As soon as I saw this dress hanging on the rail I knew I was going to watch Byblos from backstage. I just wanted to see it on, up close and moving. The light weight white satin with black embroidery and lace insets, caught my attention. I got to know the models and we talked and joked around while they were waiting to do the first looks.
The beauty choice of a bold, dark red lip against a fresh bright face made the look of the collection both ethereal and medievil at the same time which brought out Manuel Facchini’s inspiration of Ophelia and Kate Moss as his muses for the Byblos Fall 2013 collection. Texture within jacquard fabrics were scrolling with a baroque influence, exaggerated and made bold with the use of high contrast color combos like white with black or red with black.
Layering within the collection building up from sheer fabrics in blouses and dresses, to structured jackets with moto influences. Oversized shoulders and cocoon like sleeves on jackets and dresses.
Attention to couture details with hand sew lame pleated dresses, and hand sewn floral embroidery motifs on dresses.
The Fall 2013 Byblos woman is bold, edgy, sensual and romantic. Rock and Roll Chic.
