You guys may remember the last time I talked to you about my friend Joe. He’s an awesome photographer and takes most of his pics from his iphone. I’ve known him for a really long time and we thought it would be fun to do some photos together. I get really camera shy, but we had a perfect sunny day and lots of fun.
We decided to meet up at the Getty Museum in LA. The drive up the hill makes you wonder what your going to see. After an hour in a half in traffic I was really looking forward to checking out the museum and the gardens especially.
Have you guys ever been there? It’s a must if you make your way out to Los Angeles.
The first shot is on one of the balconies where you will find a full panoramic view of the area. It was a really clear day that day, so the view was spectacular. This spot gets my vote for one of the best views in LA.
I was totally contemplating a move from NYC after that trip, the sun, all the nature. They are both great cities in different ways. It always makes me laugh when my East Coast and West Coast friends debate on which is better, NYC vs LA. I say both!
There’s so many colorful flowers, you feel like your in an urban oasis while your there. They had these giant yellow buttercup flowers that I had never seen before. Living in NYC in the concrete jungle, even when we make our escapes to local gardens, we don’t have all the same varieties of flowers.
We ate lunch there and then checked out all the views after. They are great about letting you take pictures there, much different than our day at the Greystone Mansion where we got the boot for taking pictures onsite.
Between skating and surfing, you can find Joe documenting action sports taking some amazing surf photos and capturing a skater doing their skate boarding tricks. I thought that runway photography was action packed, but catching waves is a different story!
