The vibe backstage for the Isabel Marant fall 2013 show was just as cool as she is. Isabel arrived cheerful and ready for her show. She buzzed around the room kissing the models and team producing the show(these weren’t air kisses by the way).
The first thing that struck me about the collection was the simplicity and wearability. Chic and uncomplicated where novelty was in the layering.
Super fine gauge knits layered over wovens while details of micro silver studs added a feminine aude to the rock vibe that is a hallmark for Marant.
Mostly monochromatic with the strong use of ivory from head to toe, navy or black. I was loving the skinny scarfs with the silver studs, especially on the ivory looks giving a cool necklace alternative.
Of course, being known for her sneaker wedge and fringed boots of seasons past, everyone wanted to know what was next with footwear. Enter the hair calf wedge shoes with velcro straps and up to the knee hair calf wedge heel boots.
Moto influenced styles in shearlings and large oversized coats and blazer styles were paired over sweater dress styles.
Clothes that real girls can wear everyday.
