FASHION, SHOWS

Watching the fashion shows for me is not just about the new styling. It’s about the total mood at the show. The lighting, the hair, and makeup. The buzz of the crowd. The venue, and vision for how the models will walk to best convey the designers inspiration for the season.

The Sonia Rykiel show seemed to stop time. The models were moving at just as fast of a pace as usual yet, somehow I felt like I was photographing in slow motion. I just wanted to enjoy the moment and experience the total mood of the show. It was captivating.

The result was a beautiful orchestration with the finale showing models breezing in and out and around so that everyone could see them, crossing paths with their hair flying back in that dramatic coif. The well planned use of color positioned between the looks that were black based or white based, infusing in between the black and white shots of purples, reds, and accents of pink and mint. The red pants whisking by cutting through the blue grey fog.
